07 Adding Pages

The advantage of using a content management system (CMS) like the Sitebuilder is the fact that you can easily change the design of your website or easily add more content without impacting your site negatively. To get started, click on the Add New link when hovering over the Pages menu, or click the Plus button from the page management screen.

The Add New Page screen will appear when you do this. This page has everything you need to easily create lovely pages for your website.

Add Page 01

To get started with your page, enter a title for it in the space provided saying, Enter Title Here. The title usually describes the page to some extent. For eg. ServicesAbout Us, Contact Us, etc.

Once the title is added, we come to the visual editor. This is where you will enter all the content for your page. To make your pages appealing, it shouldn’t be filled with plain text. That is why the toolbars allow you to apply all sorts of formatting to text, align text, add bullets, numbers, links to other portions of your site or to external websites and much more.

(for more advanced users, you can click on the Text tab beside Visual, and have a go at the underlying HTML code for your pages).

Aside text, you can add images, videos, audios, and other types of media files to your pages. To do so, click the Add Media button just on top of the Visual Editor to upload new media files or select some from your library.

Once you’ve finished creating your page, there are a few more things to look at before you can publish your page and make it live on your site. At the bottom right corner is the Featured Image selector. Depending on your theme, a featured image can be associated with this particular page. Select one by clicking on Set Featured Image.

Above Featured Image is the Page Attributes section. This section allows you to set the ‘level’ of the page. If it’s a main or top-level page, then the attribute Parent should be set to ‘no parent’. If the page you’re creating is a sub page, then in the Parent attribute, select the page under which your new page should display. You can also set the page order by entering an appropriate number in the Order field. (An easier way to order pages is via our drag and drop page manager).

Once you’re all set and done with your page, you can save it as a draft to be worked on some more later, or you could preview it to see what it’ll be like on your website. If it looks good to you, then you can now click on the Publish

You can create as many pages as your plan allows for your website.
